Once purchased, watch for an email responder from ritualgoddess.com which includes a calendar link to choose your time. If you can’t find a time that works, you can reach out to me at theresa@ritualgoddess.com and we will find a time together.
For bookkeeping purposes, the link to schedule will ask if you are the one who purchased or if it has been gifted to you. If you purchased two together with someone else, just say so.
Stick divination is a great opportunity to address issues that are up for you, to connect with ancestors, to explore potentialities that are available for you, to talk about life purpose or soul purpose, to better understand yourself and your motivations, to connect with elemental beings and the earth, heal relationships, explore your own personal spirituality and lineages. These divinations are “prescriptive” which means you are given “work” to do in the form of hand-crafted rituals. This is one of the gifts of this style of divination, that it leads to you have a direct experience with the energies that come forward in the divination. It’s a form of agency unique to this kind of work.
You May Be Asking, “What the Heck is Stick Divination?”
Stick divination is just what it says it is: sitting on a low stool and divining with a literal stick from a tree in one’s hand. Most preferably the person receiving the divination is sitting across from the diviner also holding the stick at the same time but it works fine remotely over zoom as well.
The stick diviner has a “kit” with pieces in it, some of which the stick chooses. They are the entities, energies or elements that wish to speak in the divination. The ritual space for the divination is created through invocation with rattles and bells. This opens the portal which gives the diviner access to the spiritual or “otherworldly” dimensions to gain insight into and guidance on the issues at hand.
This form of divination is from the Dagara people of Burkina Faso.
As I was exploring my own personal biological spiritual lineage of the Italian Strega, (wise woman and witch) I was led to receive a stick divination in which I was “claimed”— meaning the spirits were asking me to become initiated into Dagara stick divination and share it with others.
My great-grandmother who was a Strega came into that divination and encouraged me to say yes. It took me a while to understand why but I indeed said yes and it has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. I have written about all of this and more in my books which are available on this site.
